Otoendoscopy is a medical procedure that involves the use of an endoscope, a specialized
instrument with a light and a camera, to examine the inside of the ear. This procedure is commonly used to diagnose and treat conditions that affect the ear, such as ear infections, perforation of the eardrum and to see the status of the ear ossicles in cases of COM. The endoscope is inserted into the ear through the ear canal, allowing the doctor to see the inside of the ear on a monitor. Otoendoscopy is generally well-tolerated by patients and can provide valuable information to help diagnose and treat ear conditions.
